Atkins shortlisted for five prestigious Management Consultancies Association awards - 31 January 2017
Design, engineering and management consultancy Atkins has been shortlisted for five Management Consultancies Association (MCA) awards. Each of these accolades recognise the impact of the company’s successful projects, and the work of individual staff, over the last 18 months.
The nominations include Carey Williamson, who is a finalist for Young Consultant of the Year thanks to his work leading a team to support Heathrow Airport in upgrading its digital infrastructure to new Cloud-based technology.
Caroline Crewther has been shortlisted for Change Management Consultant of the Year as a result of her contribution in helping to guide Highways Agency on its journey to transform relationships with its suppliers and become the industry-leading, Government-owned company Highways England.
Atkins has also been nominated for two other awards for its project work with Highways England in both the change management and commercial excellence categories.
Finally, the consultancy has been shortlisted in the change management category for a second time thanks to its work with the Department for Transport on its Highways Maintenance Efficiency Programme, helping local highway authorities to work more collaboratively and efficiently.

The MCA 2017 Awards winners will be revealed on 27 April 2017.
Martin Chalmers, a former MCA board member and managing director of Atkins’ Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology division, explained: “I am delighted that our talented people and innovative projects have been recognised as finalists in these prestigious industry awards.
“The story that lies behind each of these nominations demonstrates Atkins’ focus on being hands on, collaborative, and driven by securing results for our clients. They also help to recognise and underpin our ongoing commitment to the values and principles outlined in the MCA’s Consulting Excellence Scheme.”
Atkins was one of the founding signatories of the Consulting Excellence Scheme, and was involved in its establishment even before its launch last year. In January 2017, the consultancy was also one of the first to publish its online declarations setting out its commitments, policies, processes and approach in the pursuit of excellence.
